Ciro Duclos works and lives in Amsterdam. Having studied at the Royal Acedemy of Arts in the Hague and having done much graffiti growing up, he focuses his often sculptural work on themes such as distance and borders. "When tagging buildings you are always conscious of borders between you and your canvas, the buildings or trains you try to tag". His sculptures often are comprised of used building fences or other materials used to camouflage building sites. Showing these materials in a solitary state does not so much show the tension between the spectator and a specific object, but reveals the distance we have to our daily surroundings, invoking a sense of virtuality to everyday objects.
